CAPE COD, Mass. - Franklin Pierce University sophomore forward Johannah Leedham has been chosen as the 2007-08 ECAC Division II Women's Basketball Player of the Year, in a vote by the coaches of ECAC member institutions.  Leedham, an ECAC first team performer and Rookie of the Year last season, led the Ravens to the Elite Eight of the NCAA tournament and a final record of 27-5.  The Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Year averaged 23.0 points (third in Division II), 6.6 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 3.4 steals per game.

Catherine Carr of Holy Family University has been chosen as the 2007-08 ECAC Division II Women's Basketball Rookie of the Year, in addition to being named to the ECAC second team.  The forward put up 15.2 points and 5.7 boards to earn the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Rookie of the Year honor and help power the Tigers into the NCAA Sweet 16.

For the second consecutive year, Holy Family's Kelly Killion and Kate Lynch of Southern Connecticut State University join Leedham on the ECAC first team.  Killion, the CACC Player of the Year, led Holy Family to a 32-1 overall record, falling only to Franklin Pierce in the NCAA tournament.  The senior guard scored 11.8 points to go along with 4.9 assists per game, and had the fourth-best assist-to-turnover ratio in Division II at 2.96.  Lynch, last year's ECAC Player of the Year, ranked sixth in Division II with 21.8 points per game.  The senior forward also had 7.1 rebounds per contest.

Rounding out the ECAC first team are Kelsey Simonds of Stonehill College and Kymira Woodberry of Molloy College.  Simonds posted numbers of 17.0 points and 8.0 rebounds this season, while blocking 2.3 shots per game on the defensive end (15th in Division II).  The junior forward led the Skyhawks to a 27-5 record and the second round of the NCAA tournament.  Woodberry earned the East Coast Conference Player of the Year honor, after averaging a double-double with 17.1 points and 10.7 boards.  Just a sophomore, the Lions' forward guided Molloy to its first NCAA tournament sporting a 19-12 record.
