Dowling Volleyball Advances to Third Straight NCAA Elite Eight

Oakdale, NY-The Golden Lions advance to their third straight NCAA Quarterfinals appearance after defeating the #2 Bulldogs of Bryant University on November 17. Dowling continues to push a now 36 match winning streak as they improve to 39-7 on the season as Bryant falls to 32-13.

The Golden Lions out hit the Bulldogs, .204-.135 and dominated the service line with a 14-8 edge.

Dowling bounced back from a 4-10 game one deficit with a 12-6 run as Marina Markovic tied the game at 16 with an ace. Three straight kills gave Dowling a 21-17 and they never looked back as they grabbed a 30-22 victory.

Again, the Golden Lions found themselves down, but this time they were unable to recover. The Bulldogs connected for 11 kills and hit .280 to take 30-22 victory.

The Golden Lions came out on fire in game one and two straight service aces from Patrycja Klekota caused Bryant to burn their second time out. Dowling dominated the net to finish with 14 kills, hitting .304 to take a 30-19 win.

Bryant fought hard in game four as they battled back from a 27-23 deficit to knot the game at 29 with back to back kills from Adrienne Boss. But Dowling’s Justyna Michon retaliated with back to back tallies of her own to clinch the game at 31-29 and send the Golden Lions to a third consecutive NCAA Elite Eight.
