Ruenz Named the 2009 Mens Tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year

Central Islip, NY - Concordia College senior Henning Ruenz (Muelheim-Kaerlich, Germany) has been named the 2009 East Coast Conference Men's Tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Ruenz has compiled a 3.95 GPA working towards a degree in business. This season, he helped Clippers to a 21-4 overall record and a berth in the NCAA Division II Men's Tennis National Semifinals. Ruenz was ranked fourth in the East Region in singles play and eighth in doubles play and claimed the No. 2 Doubles Championship at the Scott Satran Memorial Tournament last fall. In addition, Ruenz garnered the ITA East Region Senior of the Year award.
East Coast Conference Scholar-Athlete of Year Award recipients are nominated by their institution and voted upon by the Faculty Athletic Representatives from each ECC institution.
