Rodrigo Teixeira, Concordia (Sr., Vitoria, Brazil, Leonardo da Vinci) - Helped the #12 Clippers to a 2-0 week going 2-0 at No. 2 singles and 2-0 at doubles. Won 7-5, 6-4 over Matt Gordon of Division I Fairleigh Dickinson and 6-0, 6-2 over Dave Burstein of Queens. Teamed with Alex Grubin (4th ranked National doubles team) to win 8-4 over Gordon and Philip Stephens of FDU and 8-0 against Dave Alper and Taylor Crabill of Queens.

Boyce of St. Thomas Aquinas at No. 2 singles. He also teamed up
with Yusufcan Koksal at No. 1 doubles for an 8-2 triumph versus
Tony Tello and Ryan Maher.
ECC Notebook
Mercy: The Mavericks, ranked No. 29 in the nation, began their 2008 East Coast Conference (ECC) slate with a 9-0 shutout of host St. Thomas Aquinas College on Saturday, losing just nine games in six matches to put it away. The Mavericks will now head to Florida for a three-match road trip versus some of the top programs in the country. The southern swing will begin with a match at No. 14 Florida Southern (Mar. 24), followed by a contest at No. 9 Rollins (Mar. 25), and conclude at defending NCAA Division II national champion Lynn (Mar. 26), currently No. 3 in the nation.
Concordia: The 12th ranked Clippers got back on the winning rack with two wins this past week. The Clippers defeated Division I Fairleigh Dickinson University 7-2 and opened East Coast Conference play by beating Queens College 8-1. Sophomore Alex Grubin raised his singles record to 9-1 by defeating Philip Stephens of FDU 6-4, 6-4 and Marcelo Kim of Queens 6-1, 6-0. Senior Kirill Azovtsev also moves to 9-1 by winning over Kyle Eddins 6-3, 6-2 and Taylor Crabill of Queens 6-0, 6-2. The Clippers will travel to Garden City to take on Adelphi on Saturday.
Queens: Freshman Fabio Minami was the bright spot for QC in two losses on the road over the past three days. The Knights lost to Division I Fairfield University, 6-1, on Thursday and then dropped their ECC opener at Concordia, 8-1, on Saturday. Minami won at third singles, 6-1 and 6-4 and combined with David Burstein to post an 8-6 win at #2 doubles on Thursday. At Concordia, he won once again at third singles (6-4, 6-4) but lost at second doubles, 8-6.
