Baden Offensive Player of the Week

Junior Laurencin, Dowling (Jr., F, St. Lucia) - Named Offensive MVP of the NCAA Northeast Regional, helping the Golden Lions to wins over Bridgeport and NYIT with two goals and two assists. Scored the eventual game winner and assisted on another in the 2-0 win over Bridgeport and added a goal and set up the eventual game winner against NYIT. 

Baden Defensive Player of the Week

Meshcach Tinglin, Dowling (Sr., D, Portmore, Jamaica) - Named Defensive MVP of the NCAA Northeast Regional, helping the Golden Lions to wins over Bridgeport and NYIT. Helped anchor a team defense that notched two shutouts and held the opposition to just seven shots.

Baden Rookie of the Week

Marcus Come, Dowling (Fr., F, Gothenburg, Sweden) -Netted a goal in the 4-0 win over NYIT in the NCAA Regional Tournament.

ECC Notebook

ECC: Dowling captured the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship, topping ECC foe NYIT, 4-0 in Sunday's championship matchup at East Stroudsburg ... The NCAA Regional All Tournament team included five Golden Lions including Junior Laurencin (Offensive MVP), Meshach Tinglin (Defensive MVP), Carl Rydin, Thomas Vaaland, and Ahmadoul Gaye ... NYIT placed four on the team including Josue Cruz, Frank Spanos, Kyle Cupid, and Oscar Gonzalez ... Bridgeport's Paulo Goncalves also earned all tournament honors ... Dowling will travel to Rindge, N.H. to face New England regional champion Franklin Pierce this coming Friday.

Dowling: The Golden Lions had to battle through two conference opponents to claim the NCAA Regional tournament and advance to the Quarterfinals against Franklin Pierce this week. Dowling opened with a 2-0 victory over Bridgeport. Junior Laurencin netted the game winning tally and assisted Ahmadoul Gaye's goal to seal the 2-0 win. Dowling then took a 4-0 win over the Bears of NYIT. Ahmadoul Gaye was the first to score for Dowling and Thomas Vaaland Capitalized on a free kick for a 2-0 cushion at the half. Laurencin added his second goal on the week to open scoring in the second half and Pat Cunningham served a ball to Marcus Come to round out the Golden Lions scoring. Laurencin was named the Tournament's Most Outstanding Offensive Player while Meshach Tinglin claimed the Most Outstanding Defensive Player honors. Gaye, Vaaland and Carl Rydin were also named to the All-Tournament team. NYIT

: Seniors Ryan Blachly and Kyle Cupid each scored as NYIT defeated top seed East Stroudsburg University 2-0 in the NCAA Northeast Regional's on Friday night. The Bears advanced to the finals, where they were defeated by Dowling College 4-0. NYIT defenders Josue Cruz (Hempstead, NY) and Oscar Gonzalez (Madrid, Spain), midfielder Frank Spanos (West Islip, NY), and forward Kyle Cupid (Chaguanas, Trinidad) were all named to the All-Tournament Team.
