Jul 1, 2009

DOBBS FERRY, NY - Mercy College assistant men's lacrosse coach Jordan Levine has been selected to play in the eighth annual Major League Lacrosse (MLL) All-Star Game.  The event will take place at Denver's INVESCO Field at Mile High on Thursday, July 16th. The game begins at 10 PM ET/ 8 PM MT and will be broadcast live on ESPN2 with Joe Beninati and Quint Kessenich calling the action.

In the past two seasons, the game has seen an "East" vs. "West" format, but this year's contest will feature the "Old School" vs. "Young Guns" format. The "Young Guns" team is made up of players from the 2007-09 classes, such as Levine, a 2008 University at Albany graduate, while the "Old School" squad will consist of players from classes prior to and including 2006.

Levine is a 5-foot-8 midfielder in his first season with the Toronto Nationals after playing the 2008 campaign with the New Jersey Pride.  He has registered eight points on six goals and two assists through the first seven games of the season. Two of his tallies have been game-winners for the Nationals, now 4-3 overall on the season and tied with Boston for third place.

Levine joined the staff at Mercy College in November of 2008 as assistant men's lacrosse coach and assistant to the athletics director.  He assists with the day-to-day operations of the program and coordinates recruiting with Steve Manitta, the program's first head coach, as they prepare for the inaugural season in 2009-10.
