St. Thomas Aquinas Breaks in to National Rankings

Central Islip, N.Y. – On the heels of a 13 game winning streak, the St. Thomas Aquinas baseball team has moved into both the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and the Collegiate Baseball Division II national rankings.

The move into the national rankings is a first in program history for St. Thomas Aquinas. They come in at No. 22 in the NCBWA poll and tied for No. 30 in the Collegiate Baseball poll.

During their 13 game winning streak, the Spartans have set a program record with 35 wins and also clinched their second consecutive ECC Regular Season Championship. With a potent offense that ranks in the top 25 in Division II in batting average, runs, triples, and stolen bases despite playing in a wood bat league, the Spartans will look to capture their first ever ECC Championship and a berth into the NCAA Tournament this weekend.
