C.W. Post and Molloy Ranked in NCBWA Preseason East Rankings; Three on All-Region Team

Bridgeport, Conn. - The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association has released their preseason East Region poll, with ECC members C.W. Post and Molloy included on the list. The Pioneers begin the year at No. 7, while Molloy rounds out the poll at No. 10.

C.W. Post, who finished 32-17-1 last season, is the top conference team in the poll at No. 7. The Pioneers advanced to the NCAA East Regional in 2010 after taking home the ECC title in dramatic fashion with a walk-off victory in the 11th inning over Molloy.

Molloy comes in at the No. 10 spot in the poll after a 30-24 finish and their third straight appearance in the ECC Baseball Championship in 2010.

Franklin Pierce, currently ranked No. 10 nationally, takes home the top spot in the preseason poll.

The NCBWA also released their Preseason All-Region team, with three ECC student-athletes making the cut. 2009 NCBWA East Region Pitcher of the Year, Gabriel Duran of Dowling leads the way with Casey McKay of C.W. Post and Matt Bartolemi of Bridgeport also making the team.
