NEW ORLEANS, LA – For the second time this indoor season and sixth time in her career, Roberts Wesleyan graduate student pole vaulter Brynn King has been selected the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division II Women's National Athlete of the Week. King also earned national weekly honors four consecutive weeks last year: December 5, December 12, January 16 and January 23.
King is back at the top of the pole vault class as she soared to 4.60m (15' 1"), to claim a win at the YSU Last Chance Invitational on Friday. That mark ranks third all-time in NCAA Division II history.
Within the same series, King cleared 4.53m (14' 10 1/4"), a top-10 height in its own right.
King, who holds the current NCAA DII record in the event and owns 10 of the top 11 indoor pole vault marks in NCAA Division II history, will look to defend her NCAA title come March.
