Sophomore | Cambridge, England
ECC Preseason Player of the Year Newman defeated Division I Fairleigh Dickinson’s top player Joshua Oboniya to a score of 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 to earn a No. 1 singles win for STAC. The STAC sophomore came back to defeat Onobiya solo after falling to him and Tyler Crook at No. 1 doubles with partner Henry Ronnberg, 6-3. 

Honor Roll

Loup Alleno, Queens
Sophomore | Paris, France
Making his Knights debut at No. 3 singles, Alleno completed a first set down to earn a three-set victory and clinch the match over Hofstra on Friday afternoon. Alleno dropped the first set, 3-6, before bouncing back with a 6-3, second-set victory and earning a convincing 7-6 (7-1), third-set victory as Queens clinched the season opener, 4-3. 

Lucas Foix Sotos, Queens
Junior | Javea, Spain
In the season opener against Division I Hofstra, Foix Sotos went 1-1. Opening up at No. 1 doubles with ECC Player and Rookie of the Week Samuel Linck, the duo completed a back-and-forth victory with a 7-5 win over Matthew Garcia and Vincent Turina to help Queens clinch the doubles points. 

Erik Victor Tauson, St. Thomas Aquinas
Freshman | Malmo, Sweden
Tauson went 1-1 in his first match of the spring season against Fairleigh Dickinson. The STAC freshman dropped a 6-4 decision at No. 3 doubles with Ondrej Sramek against Gareth Ong and Andrew Nicolae before winning a 6-4, 6-2 No. 4 singles match-up to Andrew Nicolae.
