ECC Women's Soccer Report - Week Four

Offensive Player of the Week

Kylie Miranto, Daemen
Junior | Forward | North Tonawanda, NY

Miranto recorded nine total points on four goals and one assist in a 2-0 conference week for the Wildcats. The Daemen junior forward scored twice in a 5-2 road win over Roberts Wesleyan on Wednesday and factored into all three scoring plays with two goals and an assist in a 3-0 road win over St. Thomas Aquinas on Saturday. Miranto has posted multi-goal performances in each of Daemen’s last three contests. 


Defensive Player of the Week

Becca Schultz, Daemen
Junior | Goalkeeper | Grand Island, NY

Schultz anchored Daemen to a 2-0 conference week, making five saves in a 5-2 road win over Roberts Wesleyan on Tuesday and eight saves en route to her first clean sheet of the season in a 3-0 road win over St. Thomas Aquinas on Saturday. 


Rookie of the Week

Jana Strait, Molloy
Freshman | Forward | Millersburg, PA

Strait scored twice in the second half to lead Molloy to a 2-0 ECC victory over Mercy on Saturday.


ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Ava Angiuli, Queens
Sophomore | Defender | Wantagh NY

Playing 180 total minutes on the week sophomore defender Ava Angiuli recorded her first career game-winning goal and helped Queens record two shutouts in a 2-0 week for the Knights. In a tight 1-0 victory over Pace Angiuli would help Queens maintain their 1-0 lead as they were outshot 9-7 in the second half of play. On Saturday against D’Youville Angiuli delivered the game-winning goal just 56 seconds into the second half as the sophomore blasted a 35-shot from midfield over the Saints goalie for her first goal of the year and first career game-winning goal before Queens closed out the game for their first ECC victory of the year. 

Keeley Harden, Queens
Freshman | Midfielder/Defender | Orlando, FL

Playing 180 total minutes, Harden recorded a career week with two assists and helped Queens record two shutouts as the Knights went 2-0 on the week. Harden recorded her first career assist on Julia Ragone's game-winner before helping Queens close out the game to the final score of 1-0 over Pace. In the Knights’ first ECC victory of the year over D’Youville, Harden recorded her second consecutive helper with a long ball to Ragone en route to the 2-0 victory. 

Samantha Hines-Hirsch, Queens
Freshman | Goalkeeper | Plainview, NY

Playing 180 total minutes, Hines-Hirsch recorded seven saves and two shutouts in the 2-0 week for Queens. In the 1-0 victory over Pace, the rookie recorded five saves to earn her first career shutout. In the 2-0 victory over D’Youville in ECC play, Hines-Hirsch made two saves in the final 15 minutes of play as the rookie and her defense held off a late Saints rally for their first ECC victory and Hines-Hirsch’s second career shutout victory. 

Elyse Muñoz, Molloy
Sophomore | Goalkeeper | East Setauket, NY

Muñoz made two starts in goal in a 1-1 week for Molloy. The sophomore made six saves against Franklin Pierce, who entered the contest ranked third in the region, and picked up her first clean sheet of the season in the Lions’ 2-0 ECC win over Mercy with four saves. On the week, the goalkeeper collected a 0.50 GAA, with 10 saves and a .909 GAA.

Julia Ragone, Queens
Senior | Forward/Midfielder | Centereach, NY

Ragone scored twice on the week as Queens went 2-0 with a 1-0 non-conference home win over Pace on Wednesday and a 2-0 conference road win over D’Youville on Saturday. Ragone scored the game-winner against Pace before notching another goal in the 67th minute against D’Youville.
