ECC Men's Soccer Report - Week Three

Offensive Player of the Week

Myles Palmer, Roberts Wesleyan
Sophomore | Forward | Fairport, NY

Palmer scored four goals in Roberts Wesleyan’s 5-5 draw against Seton Hill on Wednesday; the Griffins had entered the game with an undefeated record of 3-0-0. The Redhawk sophomore forward came as close as one can to breaking the NCAA record for shortest amount of time between goals; Palmer headed in a crossing pass from teammate Jack Hopson at the 68:32 mark of the game. On the restart, Palmer stole a pass back to the defense and split a pair of defenders before firing a shot past Seton Hill’s goalkeeper at the 68:41 mark for his second goal in a span of just nine seconds. The NCAA Division II record book lists three players with goals in a span of eight seconds as the record, with the most recent coming in 2015.

Holland had a game-high three assists and anchored a Mercy defense that posted its fourth straight shutout to start the season in the Mavericks' 4-0 win over West Chester, who entered the week receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches national poll, on Wednesday.
