Brynn King Receives Votes For The Bowerman Watch List

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Roberts Wesleyan University pole vaulter Brynn King is in elite company.

King is the only Division II athlete receiving votes for The Bowerman Watch Llist, which was released on Wednesday. The watch list contains the top 10 vote-getters. King is one of three athletes ranked outside of the top10 who received votes.

The Bowerman, which is named after former University of Oregon coach Bill Bowerman, is collegiate track and field's highest honor. The award considers performances during the indoor and outdoor track and field seasons and will be awarded in December. The next watch list is scheduled to be released on May 1.

King, who is from The Woodlands, Texas, set the NCAA Division II women's outdoor pole vault mark while setting a personal record (4.68 meters) and winning the Texas Relays on March 30. She has the top two collegiate vaults this season.

She also broke the NCAA Division II women's indoor pole vault record eight times during the season, capped by her winning performance (4.65 meters) at the NCAA Division II national championship on March 8.
