ECC Softball Report - Week 10

Player of the Week

Stevie Dabbadie, Molloy
Freshman | Utlity/Pitcher | Burbank, Calif.

Dabbadie led the Lions' offense, batting .409 (9-for-22) with 10 RBI and two home runs on Molloy’s 5-1 conference week. The freshman drove in three runs against both Queens and Mercy, homering in each contest, and recorded at least one RBI in five of six contests. In the circle, she went 1-0 in 13.1 innings of work, striking out five batters with a 2.10 ERA.


Pitcher of the Week

Sarah Clancy, St. Thomas Aquinas
Senior | Pitcher | Chino Hills, Calif. 

Clancy posted a 3-0 record with a 1.40 ERA and 29 strike outs over 25 total innings of work last week for STAC. The senior lefty also becomes the fifth pitcher in program history to eclipse the 100-strikeout mark.


Rookie of the Week

Allison Murphy, Mercy
Freshman | Second Base | Stony Point, N.Y.

Murphy hit .381 (8-for-21) with three RBI, a home run, six stolen bases, a double and a team-high eight runs scored as Mercy went 3-3 on the week. The freshman opened the week going 2-for-7 with a home run and an RBI against Molloy on Tuesday. The second baseman then went 5-for-8 with four runs in the split with STAC on Wednesday. Murphy ended the week going 1-for-6 with three runs, two RBI and five stolen bases in the sweep of D'Youville on Saturday. 


ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Aileen Balderas, Staten Island
Sophomore | Shortstop | Los Angeles, Calif.

Balderas hit .500 for the week (10-for-20) with an on-base percentage of .545.  She has now hit safely in every game since March 14th, giving her a 26-game hitting streak.  She is also one hit shy of 100 in just her second season with the Dolphins and she continues to lead the ECC in batting average, runs scored, hits, and doubles.

Caylea Campbell, Queens
Freshman | Utility | Murrieta, Calif.

In a nine-game week, Campbell held a team-high batting average of .444 with a SLG % of .556, and an OB % of .500 recording 12 hits, three doubles, four RBI, two walks, and two runs scored to go with four multi-hit games. In the circle, she would pitch 28.0 innings allowing 26 hits, 10 earned runs, and seven walks to go with 15 strikeouts. She would earn her first career shutout victory as the rookie held CSI to five hits with six strikeouts to match a career-best effort in the circle in eight innings of work before Queens earned the walk off victory.

Samantha Franck, Mercy
Graduate Student | First Base | La Habra Heights, Calif.

Franck hit .318 (7-for-22) with a team-high four home runs and seven RBI to go along with six runs scored as Mercy went 3-3 on the week. The graduate student opened the week going 1-for-4 with an RBI and a home run in game one against Molloy on Tuesday. The first baseman then went 3-for-8 with a home run and an RBI in the split with STAC on Wednesday. Franck ended the week going 3-for-7 with five RBI, two home runs and four runs in the sweep of D'Youville on Saturday. Franck set a single-season school record with her 16th and 17th home runs against the Saints. 

Alexandra Frenza, Staten Island
Sophomore | Pitcher | New Paltz, N.Y.

Frenza appeared in three games this week allowing just two runs on 16 hits in 18.1 innings.  In the first two of those three appearances, she came in out the of the Dolphins bullpen to record all 21 outs in relief. In her third appearance, she got the start against Molloy on Saturday and allowed just one run in 4.1 innings. She finished the week with a 0.99 ERA, a .232 batting average against, and 12 strikeouts with a record of 1-0.

Tara Hagan, St. Thomas Aquinas
Senior | Infielder | New City, N.Y.

Hagan hit .500 (10-for-20) with a pair of doubles for the Spartans last week. The senior first baseman recorded six RBI and five runs scored, while also drawing a walk. She also stole a base in her only attempt.

Brianna Macias, Molloy
Senior | Pitcher | Downey, Calif.

Macias tossed 8.2 innings in relief with a 0.00 ERA this week for the Lions, picking up two wins. The senior came in with Molloy trailing by two in the third inning against Staten Island and struck out three batters while holding the Dolphins scoreless. Macias was once again called upon against Queens, this time with the game tied in the fourth, and allowed just two hits while striking out two. 

Sophia Mariottini, Molloy
Freshman | Pitcher | Hollister, Calif.

Mariottini had a 2-1 week in the circle for the Lions. Through 22 innings of work, the freshman struck out 21 batters, which included a career-high 11 strikeouts in a complete-game, nine-inning outing against Queens. Offensively, she averaged .308 (4-for-13) with two RBI. 

Eliana Raposo, St. Thomas Aquinas
Sophomore | Pitcher/Outfield | Wareham, Mass.

Raposo hit .350 (7-for-20) with a double and a home run over six games last week for the Spartans. The sophomore centerfielder/pitcher tallied five RBI and eight runs scored, while also being walked twice by opposing pitchers. She also swiped three bases. In the circle, the right-hander went 2-1 in three starts with a 0.88 ERA, allowing six runs (two earned) on 18 hits, while walking four and striking out five over 16 total innings.

Shannon Sisco, Mercy
Senior | Outfielder | Cicero, N.Y.

Sisco hit .318 (7-for-22) with four RBI, four stolen bases and four runs scored as Mercy went 3-3 on the week. The senior opened the week going 1-for-6 with a run against Molloy on Tuesday. The outfielder then went 4-for-9 with two RBI and a run in the split with STAC on Wednesday. Sisco ended the week going 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs in the game two win over D'Youville on Saturday.
