University of Mount Saint Vincent to Join ECC Esports

WEST BABYLON, N.Y. – The University of Mount Saint Vincent has accepted an invitation to join ECC Esports beginning in Fall 2024, the East Coast Conference announced on Monday afternoon.

The University of Mount Saint Vincent, located in the Bronx, N.Y., becomes the 16th member of ECC Esports and the league’s ninth associate member, joining Farmingdale State College, Florida State University, Mount Saint Mary University, New York Institute of Technology, Southern New Hampshire University, St. Joseph’s College (LI), the University of New Haven, and Utica University.

ECC full-time members Daemen University, University of the District of Columbia, D’Youville University, Mercy University, Molloy University, College of Staten Island, and St. Thomas Aquinas College also participate in ECC Esports.

“We are excited to announce the University of Mount Saint Vincent as our newest member of ECC Esports, beginning in Fall 2024,” said ECC Commissioner Dr. Robert Dranoff. “Mount Saint Vincent is an excellent institution, and we believe that ECC Esports will be great home for its new program. We do not doubt that they will quickly contribute to our conference.”

We are thrilled to add Esports and honored to call the ECC home,” said Philip Stern, Director of Athletics and Recreation at CMSV. “Joining an established conference will enhance the experience of our student-athletes and give our program instant credibility.”

ECC Esports is in the midst of its sixth season during the 2023-24 academic year. 

This season, the league offers championships in both the fall and spring semesters in five different games (Overwatch 2, League of Legends, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Valorant, and Rocket League) and works with EsportsU to manage Esports operations and championships.
