Destiny Ryles, District of Columbia

Ryles averaged 30.0 points per game, 8.0 assists per game, 7.0 rebounds per game, and 5.5 steals per game in a 1-1 week for the Firebirds. In UDC’s 85-82 loss to D'Youville, Ryles posted a career- and game-high 34 points, shooting 45.8 percent from the field while posting eight rebounds, four assists and four steals. In the Firebirds’ 71-65 win over Daemen, Ryles posted a double-double to lead all scorers with 26 points, 12 assists, seven steals, and six rebounds. The UDC junior guard leads the conference and ranks seventh in the nation in steals per game (3.32) and ranks fourth in the conference in scoring (16.1 ppg).
Defensive Player of the Week
Cecilia Lapertosa, Daemen
Sophomore | Forward | Whitesboro, N.Y.
Lapertosa led the Wildcats defensively on the weekend, averaging 8.5 rebounds per game in Daemen's 1-1 week. The sophomore forward finished with 11 boards (nine defensive) with two steals and two blocks in Daemen's 71-44 win over Staten Island on Friday night and added six rebounds (four defensive) and a block in the 71-65 loss at District of Columbia.
Rookie of the Week
Jalea Abrams, Queens
Freshman | Guard | Elmira, N.Y.
Playing over 43 minutes on Wednesday evening in the overtime loss to Molloy, Abrams recorded a career-high 32 points on 11-of-24 shooting from the field (45.8 percent) with five made three-pointers to go with six rebounds. The 32 points are the second most points recorded by an ECC women’s basketball player this season and the most by a rookie. Abrams ranks second in the country in minutes per game, at just over 38 per contest.

Sarah Ericson, St. Thomas Aquinas
Junior | Guard | Norwich, Conn.
Ericson averaged 13.0 points per game with 9.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 3.0 steals per game over two contests last week for STAC, now on a two-game winning streak. The junior guard tallied 14 points, grabbed nine rebounds, dished out two assists and forced three steals in 36 minutes in a 59-45 win over Bridgeport before recording 12 points, nine rebounds, two assists and three steals in 36 minutes in a 67-48 win over Roberts Wesleyan. Ericson also shot 44.0 percent (11-of-25) from the field in a 2-0 week for the Spartans.
Erin Leary, St. Thomas Aquinas

Leary averaged 25.0 points per game with 9.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game over two contests last week for STAC, now on a two-game winning streak. The junior forward tallied 24 points, grabbed six rebounds, dished out an assist, forced two steals and blocked two shots in 36 minutes in a 59-45 win over Bridgeport before recording 26 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and a steal in 39 minutes in a 67-48 win over Roberts Wesleyan. Leary also shot 43.9 percent (18-of-41) from the field and 90.9 percent (10-of-11) from the foul line in a 2-0 week for the Spartans.
Stella Mollica, D’Youville
Junior | Guard | Shillington, Pa.
Mollica averaged 16.5 points per game, 5.0 rebounds per game, 4.5 assists per game, and 3.0 steals per game in two games this weekend, including a season-high 22 points, a season-high eight rebounds, six assists, and a season-high four steals in an 85-82 win over the District of Columbia on Friday.
Samantha Muller, Molloy
Junior | Guard/Forward | North Babylon, N.Y.
In a thrilling 73-67 overtime win over Queens, Muller paced the team with a career-high 25 points in 41 minutes played. The junior shot 81 percent from the foul line (9-of-11), including a perfect four-of-four in overtime to go along with four steals and two blocked shots.
Alahna Paige, Daemen
Senior | Guard | Rochester, N.Y.
Paige averaged 20.5 points per game and averaged 40.5 percent from the field in Daemen's 1-1 weekend. The senior totaled 24 points and shot 53 percent from the field while going 4-of-9 beyond the arc in Daemen's 71-44 road win against Staten Island on Friday night. On Sunday, Paige played all 40 minutes against District of Columbia, finishing with a team-high 17 points and banking four triples in the close loss to the Firebirds. She totaled six rebounds and six assists on the weekend.
Kyra Rose, Staten Island
Sophomore | Forward | Jersey City , N.J.
Rose averaged 13.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game this week, including a 20-point effort with three steals in CSI’s 68-61 win over D’Youville on Sunday. Rose shot an efficient 13-of-25 for the week and was a key part of the CSI comeback victory against the Saints.
Jaclyn Stanavich, Mercy
Junior | Forward | Amsterdam, N.Y.
Stanavich had a team-high 19 points, 10 rebounds (six defensive), a game-high four steals, and two assists in Mercy's 71-54 win over Roberts Wesleyan on Friday.
