Asa Kone, Mercy

Kone averaged a team-high 22.0 points, 11.5 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game on 64.3 percent shooting as Mercy went 1-1 on the week. The sophomore opened the week with a career-high 24 points on 9-of-15 shooting with a game-high 11 rebounds and four blocks in the Mavericks’ 91-87 win over Queens on Wednesday. The forward ended the week with 20 points on 9-of-13 shooting and a career-high 12 rebounds with two blocks at Molloy on Saturday. Kone led the ECC in rebounds, blocks, and field goal percentage this week.

Merchant averaged 16.0 points on the week, including a career-high 27 points against Mercy, where he also added six boards, two steals, and two assists.

ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Joey Atkins, Daemen
Graduate Student | Forward | Watervliet, N.Y.
Atkins shot 53 percent (10-of-19) from the field and averaged 14.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.0 blocks and 1.5 steals in a 2-0 week while dishing out eight assists. The Daemen forward totaled 20 points, seven rebounds (five defensive), three blocks and a steal in a 103-98, double-overtime win over UDC and capped the week with nine points, five defensive rebounds, three blocks and two steals in a 91-72 win over D'Youville.

Sunnie Diamond, Queens
Senior | Guard | Atlanta, Ga.
Diamond averaged 23.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.0 blocks, and 1.0 steals over two games last week. Against Mercy on Wednesday evening, Diamond recorded a near double-double with 23 points, nine rebounds, and four assists before finishing with 23 points, four assists, two blocks, and one steal against STAC on Saturday afternoon. 

Dylan Fasoyiro, Daemen
Senior | Guard | Houston, Texas
Fasoyiro shot 53 percent (14-of-26) from the field overall and made 6-of-13 (46 percent) from downtown while averaging 19.5 points and 7.0 rebounds during a 2-0 week. He added three assists, two blocks and two steals. The Daemen guard totaled 23 points and nine rebounds in a 103-98, double-overtime victory over UDC and added 16 points and five boards in a 91-72 win over D'Youville.

Eric Morgan, Jr., District of Columbia
Sophomore | Guard | Washington, D.C.
Morgan, Jr. averaged 26.0 points per game on the week, shooting 45.4 percent from the field. In the Firebirds’ 103-98 loss in double-overtime to Daemen, he led all scorers with a career high 26 points, shooting at 50.0 percent from the field. Morgan, Jr. forced the second overtime after knocking down a jump shot that tied the game with eight seconds to go in the first OT. In the 87-74 loss to Roberts Wesleyan, the UDC guard tied his career high with another game-high 26 points off 40.9 percent shooting. 

James Patterson, St. Thomas Aquinas
Sophomore | Guard/Forward | Richmond, Va.
Patterson averaged 20.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game over two contests last week for STAC. The sophomore guard/forward picked up 12 points, grabbed four rebounds, dished off two assists, forced a steal and blocked a shot in 21 minutes in a 86-53 victory over Molloy before recording 29 points, six rebounds and two steals in 28 minutes in a 110-95 win against Queens. 

Rich Smith, St. Thomas Aquinas
Sophomore | Guard | Bronx, N.Y.
Smith averaged 9.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 10.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game over two contests last week for STAC. The sophomore guard picked up nine points, grabbed 12 rebounds, dished off eight assists and forced two steals in 26 minutes in a 86-53 victory over Molloy before recording 10 points, six rebounds, 12 assists, two steals and a blocked shot in 31 minutes in a 110-95 win against Queens. Smith also shot 50.0 percent (8-of-16) from the field in a 2-0 week for the Spartans.
