Holy Family's Anyika, Felician's Moore Named Most Outstanding Athletes of 2024 ECC Indoor T&F Championships

WEST BABYLON, N.Y. – Holy Family sophomore Kouto Anyika (Philadelphia, Pa.) and Felician freshman Aarysa Moore (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) have been selected the 2024 ECC Indoor Track & Field Championships Most Outstanding Athletes for their respective genders, as voted on by the league’s head coaches and announced on Friday morning.

Kouto, who took home the most recent two ECC Track Athlete of the Week honors, is the Men’s Most Outstanding Athlete after winning three gold medals in the 200m, 400m, and 4x400m relay and breaking two meet records on Sunday. Kouto crossed the 200m in 21.71, breaking the championship meet record and HFU school record, and the 400m in 48.80. He closed the night with a 48.98 leadoff leg on the 4x400m relay that again broke the championship meet record and HFU school record in 3:20.60. Holy Family won the meet with 155 points, and nearly a fifth of those (30) came from Kouto’s trio of outstanding performances.

Moore is the Women’s Most Outstanding Athlete after scoring 24 points across four events, which included a pair of individual wins, for first-place Felician. The Golden Falcons rookie dropped a 9.02 in the 60m hurdles prelims before winning the event finals in 9.03. She then scored in all three jump events, winning the high jump (1.60m), placing fourth in the triple jump (10.77m), and taking seventh in the long jump (5.10m). Felician won the meet with 147.5 points.

The ECC previously announced its All-Conference honorees based on finishing place at the ECC Championship. Those honorees can be found here.

Following the conclusion of this weekend’s Last Chance meets, the 2024 ECC Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Year will be announced late next week.
