ECC Women's Bowling Report - Week 12

Bowler of the Week

Chloe Sromovski, Kutztown
Senior | Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

A recent hot streak from Sromovski continued Saturday as the Kutztown senior bowled two of the top 10 games in program history on her way to MVP honors at the Wilmington Wildcat DII/DIII Challenge. Two weeks ago, Sromovski rolled a 280 against Lincoln Memorial for the third-best game in KU history. The Wilkes-Barre, Pa. native approached that number again, this past Saturday, with a 269 in a victory over host Wilmington and a 268 in a winning effort against Emmanuel to close out a superb 1,174 series and tournament-leading 234.8 average. The 269 game ranks seventh all-time at KU, while the 268 is tied for eighth. She bowled four 200+ games.

Rookie of the Week

Brianna Tringali, Adelphi

In her traditional outing at the Wildcat Invitational, Brianna Tringali matched season-high digits with a 173.0 average and a 76.0 percent fill rate. ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Blanca Fraticelli, Adelphi
Senior | Guaynabo, Puerto Rico

Fraticelli bowled season-high marks against relevant Division II competition at the Wildcat Invitational, establishing new season-high averages in both of her Baker and traditional outings at clips of 207.2 and 194.0, respectively. The Adelphi senior also threw 50.0 percent strikes in Baker and converted 80.0 percent of her traditional spares to earn a mark in almost ninety percent of her bowled frames. Fraticelli averaged over nine pins on her first ball throughout the weekend.

Megan Hanaway, Kutztown
Senior | Forked River, N.J.

Hanaway earned her first career all-tournament team honor by producing the fourth-highest average for the Kutztown University women’s bowling team at this past weekend’s Wildcat DII/DIII Invitational. Hanaway topped 200 four times in five matches to furnish a 1,087 series and 217.4 average. She was the second-highest finishing Golden Bear behind teammate and tournament MVP Chloe Sromovski. Hanaway’s best game of 237 came during the Golden Bears’ bye round, which led to an 1,127 team score. It was the fourth-best traditional team score in program history. The Forked River, N.J., native also rolled a 235 to help KU close out a victory over Emmanuel in its final match on Saturday.
