ECC Indoor Track and Field Report - Week Two

Men's Track Athlete of the Week

Alexson Songor, Holy Family
Freshman | Upper Darby, PA

Songor won two medals at the Seahawk Shootout on Friday, first topping the 600m field of 59 in 1:20.97, breaking Holy Family’s seven-year-old record in the event. He went on to run the second leg of the 4x400m relay that earned bronze in a field of 19 with a time of 3:25.53, the fastest 4x400m relay in the ECC this season and second-fastest in the NCAA East Region. 


Men's Field Athlete of the Week

Nishorn Pierre, Holy Family
Senior | Jumps | Grenada

Pierre placed in the top four of all three jumps events at the Seahawk Shootout on Friday, including a silver medal in a high jump field of 28 after clearing an NCAA provisional 2.05m to extend his lead in the ECC and NCAA East Region (13th nationally). The senior also took home bronze in the triple jump field of 24 (14.24m) and placed fourth out of 53 in the long jump (7.08m, third in the ECC). 


Women's Track Athlete of the Week

Maya Harper, Holy Family
Sophomore | Middle Distance | Pleasantville, NJ

Harper placed eighth out of 49 in the 600m at the Seahawk Shootout on Friday, crossing in a collegiate PR of 1:40.31. The Holy Family sophomore was also a member of the 4x200m relay team that finished fifth out of 17 with a combined time of 1:43.14. 


Women's Field Athlete of the Week

Jadyn Mullen, Roberts Wesleyan
Sophomore | Multis | Batavia, NY

Mullen broke the pentathlon school record in her first career event for Roberts Wesleyan. The RWU sophomore won the pentathlon at the Susquehanna Early Season Invite and Multi over the weekend with a score of 3,205, breaking the previous record of 3,175, set in 2023. Mullen won the high jump (1.53m) and then completed the competition with a win in the 800m (2:28.62) to secure first place in the field of 14 competitors. Her converted point total of 3,227 points is just 67 points off from the provisional standard of 3,294; it also leads both the ECC and NCAA East Region and stands just 73 points shy of breaking into the national top 20. 


ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Men's
David Adekoya, Queens
Junior | 60m Hurdles | Far Rockaway, NY

Competing in the Seahawk Shootout on Friday afternoon, Adekoya placed 15th among 42 competitors in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.72, which ranks third in the ECC and 10th in the NCAA East Region. 

Devir Britton, Felician
Sophomore | Sprints | Linden, NJ

At the Seahawk Shootout, Britton placed 13th in the 60m field of 117, crossing in 7.04 for the second-fastest freshman time of the event. That time ranks fourth in the ECC and ties for 10th in the NCAA East Region. 

Jurrel Hall, Molloy
Sophomore | Jumps | West Hempstead, NY

For the second straight week, Hall set a Molloy record, this time in the triple jump, at the Seahawk Shootout. The sophomore's leap of 14.48m was good for second overall, and first against non-Division I competitors, in the field of 21 and currently ranks third in the ECC and fourth in the NCAA East Region. 

Terrence Jones, Holy Family
Senior | Hurdles/Jumps | East Orange, NJ

Jones moved into first in the ECC in the 60m hurdles at the Seahawk Shootout on Friday after crossing in 8.39 to place ninth out of 42. He is also top five in the league in both the long jump (6.97m) and high jump (1.85) after placing eighth out of 53 and 11th out of 28 in the respective events. 

Adam Lenn, St. Thomas Aquinas
Senior | Throws | Thiells, NY

Lenn placed fifth in the shot put (14.77m) in a field of 63 at the Seahawk Shootout. The STAC senior also finished 15th in a field of 52 in the weight throw with a mark of 13.79m. 

Thelonius Lucien, Holy Family
Sophomore | Middle Distance | Poughkeepsie, NY

Lucien moved into first in the ECC in the 1000m at the Seahawk Shootout on Friday after crossing in a collegiate PR 2:35.56 to place sixth out of 31. 

Austin Melvin, Roberts Wesleyan
Freshman | Pole Vault | Central Square, NY

Melvin won the pole vault at the Susquehanna Early Season Invite and Multi over the weekend with an ECC-leading height of 4.60m (15' 1") in a field of 10 collegiate vaulters.

Women's
Danalee Brock, Holy Family University
Senior | Middle Distance | St. Elizabeth, Jamaica

Brock placed 21st out of 91 entries in the 300m at the Seahawk Shootout on Friday, crossing in a collegiate PR of 41.77. She also was in the top-half of the field of 48 in the 60m hurdles, posting the 20th-fastest time at 9.44. Brock ended her day as part of the 4x200m relay team that finished fifth out of 17 with a combined time of 1:43.14.

Talia Ferguson, Felician
Graduate Student | Jumps | River Edge, NJ

At the Seahawk Shootout, Ferguson earned fifth in the high jump (1.63m/5' 4.25") and sixth in the long jump (5.51m/18' 1"), both in fields of 24. That high jump mark leads both the ECC and NCAA East Region while the long jump mark ranks second in the ECC and sixth in the NCAA East Region. 

Brynn King, Roberts Wesleyan
Graduate Student | Pole Vault | The Woodlands, TX

King posted another winning weekend as she earned a first-place finish in the pole vault at the Susquehanna Early Season Invite and Multi. The RWU graduate student won the event in a field of 17 at 4.45m (14' 7 1/4”). Her mark of 4.50m (14' 9”), set two weekends ago at the Akron Haynes Lancaster Open, remains the top mark across all of Division I, II, and III at this point in the indoor season. 

Fatima Morrobel, Queens
Senior | Middle Distance | Long Beach, NY

Competing in the Seahawk Shootout on Friday afternoon, Morrobel placed 12th among 48 competitors in the 600m with a career-best time of 1:42.14. 

Sydonia Turner, Holy Family
Junior | High Jump | Philadelphia, PA

Turner broke her own school record in the high jump with a height of 1.53m, placing seventh out of 37 at the Seahawk Shootout on Friday; that mark ranks fifth in the ECC. Turner also moved into sixth in the league in the long jump after landing at 5.16m, good for 18th out of 48 entries.
