DOBBS FERRY, NY – All-ECC First Team forward Ancksu Dixon recorded six points on two goals and two assists to factor into all four of No. 4 Mercy’s second-half scoring plays in a 4-1 win over No. 5 Roberts Wesleyan in ECC Women’s Soccer Championship First Round action at Mercy Field on Thursday afternoon. The Mavericks (10-7-2, 4-3-0 ECC) now advance to face No. 1 Molloy in a semifinal match-up slated for Sunday, November 10 at noon.

Dixon and All-ECC Third Team forward Hailey Metzger worked together for Mercy’s first two goals, as Metgzer threaded the needle to find Dixon for the equalizer (47’) before Dixon collected a rebound off of Metzger’s initial shot and put away her second of the afternoon (61’)

Fellow Mercy forward Amiah Washington scored the Mavs’ following two goals, the first assisted by Dixon and defender Ana Polychroniades (64’) and the second assisted, once again, by Dixon (90’).

Roberts Wesleyan (5-10-1, 3-4-0 ECC) had taken advantage of a Mercy defensive miscue early in the first half as RWU midfielder Ella White found the ball at her feet and buried a right-footed blast from the top of the box to give the Redhawks a 1-0 lead in the 9th minute.

From that point, All-ECC Third Team goalkeeper Anneliese Becker settled in and made nine saves in the full 90:00 to anchor the Mavs’ defense to the win.
