Alarcon got her season off to a strong start averaging 21.0 points per game, 5.5 rebounds per game, 5.5 steals per game, and 4.0 assists per game in a 1-1 week for the Dolphins. The CSI senior opened the season on Friday with 25 points, six rebounds, and six steals in a 72-47 win over Franklin Pierce. She then followed up that effort with another 17 points, five rebounds, and five steals on Saturday against Holy Family. Alarcon led all ECC players nominated for this week’s Player of the Week in free throw percentage (12-for-15), steals (11), and assists (8) and ranked second in scoring (21.0 points per game) and field goal percentage (48.0).

Rookie of the Week
Allie Hall, D’Youville
Freshman | F | Rochester, NY
Hall grabbed five rebounds and recorded two blocks and a steal in her collegiate debut against American International on Friday. The DYU freshman followed that up with six points, nine rebounds and two blocks in the Saints' 56-51 win over Bridgeport on Saturday.
ECC Weekly Honor Roll
Nkiru Awaka, Queens
Sophomore | F | Hyde Park, NY
In two games, Awaka averaged 11.0 points on a team-high 81.8 percent from the field, and 7.0 rebounds as she recorded 22 points, 14 rebounds, two assists, and one block. The sophomore began the season notching a 4-of-6 performance with eight points, six rebounds, and one block against Jefferson Saturday afternoon. On Sunday, Awaka notched 14 points on a perfect 5-of-5 from the field to go with eight rebounds against Chestnut Hill.
Angelina Barrera, Mercy
Junior | F | Gloucester City, NJ
Barrera averaged 13.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game as Mercy went 1-1 on the week. The junior opened the season with 14 points, four rebounds and three assists in the win over Saint Anselm on Saturday. The forward ended the week with 12 points, five rebounds and three assists at Southern Connecticut State on Sunday.
Bailey Chapman, St. Thomas Aquinas
Sophomore | G | Sparta, NJ
Chapman averaged 15.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.0 steal per game over two contests last week for STAC. The sophomore guard tallied 12 points, grabbed two rebounds, dished out four assists, and forced a steal in 27 minutes in a 65-51 win over Bridgeport before recording 19 points, four rebounds, three assists and a steal in 31 minutes in a 75-64 loss to American International. Chapman also shot 52.6 percent (10-of-19) from the field, 40.0 percent (4-of-10) from three-point and 87.5 percent (7-of-8) from the foul line in a 1-1 week.
Syrita Faraj, St. Thomas Aquinas
Senior | G/F | Troy, NY
Faraj averaged 20.0 points, 13.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game over two contests last week for STAC. The senior guard/forward tallied 25 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, dished out one assist, and forced four steals in 35 minutes in a 65-51 win over Bridgeport before recording 15 points, 13 rebounds, one assist, a steal and two blocks in 38 minutes in a 75-64 loss to American International. Faraj also shot 32.5 percent (14-of-43) from the field and 75.0 percent (12-of-16) from the foul line in a 1-1 week.
Marianna Freeman, Roberts Wesleyan
Junior | G | Rochester, NY
Junior Marianna Freeman put together a solid stats line for the weekend with 24 total points including 18 in the season-opening game against Assumption. She added six steals, five assists and eight rebounds for the Redhawks at the RWU Tipoff Tournament over the weekend.
Sofie Fuglsang, D’Youville
Senior | F | Oberanven, Luxembourg
Fuglsang averaged 12.5 points per game and three rebounds in two games for D'Youville this weekend. She led the Saints in scoring with a career-high 18 points in their 56-51 win over Bridgeport on Saturday. In Friday's contest, she made an impact on defense with two blocks and one steal and chipped in seven points on offense.
Georgia Haverlock, Roberts Wesleyan
Graduate Student | G | Ithaca, NY
Haverlock was the leading scorer for Roberts Wesleyan in the opening weekend as the Redhawks hosted the RWU Annual Tipoff Tournament. Despite the two losses, Haverlock scored 45 points with 23 in the opener against Assumption and 22 in game two against Felician. She added five steals and five assists and 10 rebounds to her statistical totals.
Anna Jankovic, D’Youville
Senior | G/F | Averill Park, NY
Jankovic averaged 11 points per game and 11 rebounds per game in two games for the Saints this weekend. In their 56-51 win over Bridgeport on Saturday, Jankovic recorded a double-double, scoring 10 points and grabbing 15 rebounds. She also led DYU in scoring in Friday's contest, scoring 12 points.
Jaclyn Stanavich, Mercy
Senior | G | Amsterdam, NY
Stanavich averaged a team-high 19.5 points per game on 56.7 percent shooting with 5.5 rebounds, 2.0 steals, 2.0 assists and 1.5 blocks per game as Mercy went 1-1 on the week. The senior opened the season with a game-high 21 points on 9-for-17 shooting with five rebounds and three assists in the win over Saint Anselm on Saturday. The guard ended the week with a team-high 18 points on 8-for-13 shooting with six rebounds, two blocks and three steals at Southern Connecticut State on Sunday.
Sophia Yearwood, Molloy
Junior | G | Northport, NY
Yearwood kicked off the season with a 19-point performance against Chestnut Hill. The junior shot 64 percent from the field against the griffins while shooting four-of-five from three-point range. The Northport native appeared against Jefferson, sinking an additional two three-point baskets. On the week, Yearwood averaged 12.5 points per game, shot 60 percent from the floor, and 66 percent from long distance.
