Daemen, Mercy, D'Youville Headed to NCAA Women's Volleyball East Region Championship

COLONIA, NJ – Three of the eight teams competing for the 2024 NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball East Region Championship hail from the East Coast Conference, as Daemen, Mercy, and D'Youville were announced as participants in Monday evening's NCAA Selection Show. All three squads will open action next Thursday, December 5 at host Bentley.

Daemen (17-8) enters the NCAA Division II East Region Championship as the No. 2 seed and will face No. 7 Georgian Court. The Wildcats won a share of the ECC Women's Volleyball Regular Season Championship after putting up a 9-3 mark in league play and earned the No. 1 seed for this past weekend's ECC Women's Volleyball Championship before falling in five sets to No. 4 D'Youville. 

Mercy (16-10) enters the NCAA Division II East Region Championship as the No. 6 seed and will face No. 3 American International. In the ECC Women's Volleyball Championship, the No. 3 Mavericks upset No. 2 Queens, 3-2 (30-28, 22-25, 25-18, 22-25, 15-11) to defeat the Knights for the third time this season. 

D'Youville (13-15) enters the NCAA Division II East Region Championship as the No. 8 seed and will face No. 1 Bentley. The Saints earned the conference's automatic bid after winning their first-ever ECC Women's Volleyball Championship this past Saturday, November 23. As the No. 4 seed, D'Youville upset No. 1 Daemen, 3-2 (25-20, 19-25, 25-21, 21-25, 15-11), in the semifinals and No. 3 Mercy, 3-1 (25-17, 26-24, 23-25, 25-22), in the final.
