SACRAMENTO, CA – Roberts Wesleyan graduate student Owen White capped his illustrious cross country career with a 90th-place finish at the 2024 NCAA Division II Men’s Cross Country Championship, held at the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex on Saturday afternoon. Overall, Roberts Wesleyan finished 32nd as a team in a field of the top 34 DII programs in the country.

White crossed the 10k finish line in 31:15.5, the exact time that earned him the individual title at the NCAA Division II Men’s Cross Country East Region Championship two weekends ago. The graduate student steadily improved upon his NCAA performance over the last three years; after clocking a 33:01.8 in 2022 for 227th place and a 31:37.4 in 2023 for 144th place, White broke into the top 100 in his final collegiate race.
ECC Men’s Cross Country individual champion Zachary Hall followed next in 32:12.7, good for 175th.
Freshmen Trevor Heitkamp (197th, 32:34.6 PR), Jakob Zibbel (238th, 33:33.4), and Nathan Demarest (241st, 33:37.7 PR) rounded out the scoring for the Redhawks while sophomore Caleb Belanger (243rd, 33:47.4) and senior Landon Schreib (253rd, 34:20.2 PR) finished as RWU’s No. 6 and No. 7 runners.
The race marked Roberts Wesleyan’s fifth consecutive appearance at the NCAA Division II Men’s Cross Country Championship.
