ECC Women's Volleyball Report - Week Six

Co-Players of the Week

Gabriela Bieniek, Mercy
Junior | Outside Hitter | Rzeszow, Poland

Bieniek had a match-high 17 kills and 15 digs on .533 hitting with one block assist in Mercy's 3-1 win over STAC on Saturday. The Mercy junior led all nominees for Player of the Week in kills per set (4.25) and hitting percentage on the week. 

Giselle Ramirez, D’Youville
Sophomore | Middle Blocker | Miami, FL

Ramirez recorded 16 kills on the week along with eight total blocks, six of which were against Daemen in the Saints 3-2 road win over the Wildcats. The DYU sophomore also led the team on Sunday against Wilmington with three service aces in key runs to give the Saints back the lead each time. 


Defensive Player of the Week

Julia Pomerleau, Mercy
Graduate Student | Middle Blocker | Portland, ME

Pomerleau had 12 kills on .579 hitting with a match-high five block assists in Mercy's 3-1 win over STAC on Saturday.


Setter of the Week

Adriana Rivera Rodriguez, Mercy
Sophomore | Setter | Humacao, Puerto Rico

Rivera Rodriguez had a match-high 52 assists with eight digs, two kills, three block assists and one ace in Mercy's 3-1 win over STAC on Saturday.


Rookie of the Week

Grace Dilena, Mercy
Freshman | Outside Hitter | New York, NY

Dilena had 14 kills on .345 hitting with six digs, two assists, one ace, one block solo and one block assist in Mercy's 3-1 win over STAC on Saturday.


ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Jasmine Brundage, Daemen
Graduate Student | Libero | East Aurora, NY

Brundage totaled 27 digs (3.37 digs/set), nine assists and four aces in Daemen's 1-1 week. The graduate student libero posted 16 digs, six assists and four aces on Friday night in the loss to D'Youville.

Kendall Conrad, Queens
Junior | Outside Hitter | Carrolltown, PA

In their lone match of the week, Conrad recorded 12 kills, four blocks, and two digs for a team-high 15 points as Queens earned a 3-1 victory over Molloy on Thursday. 

Dahiana Garcia Atuesta, St. Thomas Aquinas
Sophomore | DS/Libero | Pereira, Colombia

Garcia Atuesta helped lead the STAC defense to a 1-1 week, including a four-set victory over Post. The senior defensive specialist/libero totaled two assists, a service ace and 22 digs over seven total sets against both Post and Mercy.

Giselle Giraud, Daemen
Graduate Student | Right Side | Orlando, FL

Giraud led the Wildcats offensively last week, totaling 25 kills (3.125 kills/set) on 65 attacks. The graduate student added seven digs, three aces, two blocks and two assists in Daemen's 1-1 week. Giraud led the Wildcats with 14 kills and three errors on 35 attacks for a .314 hitting percentage in Daemen's five-set loss to D'Youville on Thursday.

Mitha Hatwar, D’Youville
Sophomore | Setter | Columbus, OH

Hatwar combined for 78 assists with only one error between two games for the Saints this week including 39 assists in the win at Daemen. 

Lindsay Osterhoudt, Queens
Junior | Middle Blocker | Orlando, FL

In their lone match of the week, Osterhoudt recorded eight kills on a hitting percentage of .313 with five blocks as Queens earned a 3-1 victory over Molloy on Thursday. 

Greta Santini, St. Thomas Aquinas
Junior | Outside Hitter | Reggio Emilia, Italy

Santini recorded a .218 hitting percentage for the Spartans on a 1-1 week. The St. Thomas Aquinas junior totaled 27 kills, two assists, two service aces, 21 digs and three block assists across eight sets against Post and Mercy.

Lea Venghaus, St. Thomas Aquinas
Senior | Setter | Muenster, Germany

Venghaus recorded 71 assists (8.88 per/set) over eight sets for the Spartans in a 1-1 week. The senior setter also tallied 10 kills, five service aces, 24 digs and one block assist against Post and Mercy.
