ECC Women's Soccer Report - Week Seven

Offensive Player of the Week

Melia La, D’Youville
Junior | Midfielder | Essex, England
La’s first goal as a Saint came at the perfect time as the D’Youville junior broke a 1-1 tie in the 63rd minute to lift DYU to a 2-1 road win over Staten Island on Saturday. La’s game-winner lifted D’Youville to its first conference win of the season.


Defensive Player of the Week

Madison Keenan, Molloy
Sophomore | Defender | Selden, NY
Keenan continued to be a force on both sides of the ball in a 1-0-1 week for Molloy. The sophomore played the full 90:00 as part of a backline that held Georgian Court off the scoreboard in Wednesday’ scoreless draw. In Molloy's 5-1 win over St. Thomas Aquinas on Saturday, Keenan collected a career-high four points on one goal and two assists out of the backfield. 


Rookie of the Week

Anneliese Becker, Mercy
Freshman | Goalkeeper | Stafford, VA
Becker went 1-0-1 in goal with two shutouts and six saves. The freshman opened the week with one save to earn the shutout win over Dominican on Wednesday. The goalkeeper ended the week with five saves to preserve the shutout in Mercy's 0-0 draw against Jefferson on Saturday. 


ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Ancksu Dixon, Mercy
Junior | Forward | Freeport, NY

Dixon scored the game-winning goal and had an assist in Mercy's 4-0 win over Dominican on Wednesday. 

Morgan Khadra, Queens
Freshman | Midfielder |  Grand Island, NY

Khadra notched the game-winning assist in QC’s 3-1 victory over American International on Wednesday and added another assist in QC’s 2-1 loss to Daemen on Saturday.

Isabella Messina, Mercy
Senior | Defender | Huntington Beach, CA

Messina scored a goal in Mercy's 4-0 win over Dominican on Wednesday and helped lead a Mercy backline that did not surrender a goal in two games this week against Dominican and regionally-ranked Jefferson. 

Elyse Muñoz, Molloy
Sophomore | Goalkeeper | East Setauket, NY

Muñoz was stout in two games in goal for Molloy this week. Against Georgian Court, Muñoz made six saves to secure the scoreless draw. In the 5-1 victory over St. Thomas Aquinas, Muñoz made a season-high eight saves.

Isabella Radovini, Staten Island
Senior | Forward | Mississauga, Ontario, Canada

Radovini registered two goals this week, one in each match the Dolphins played. First, the senior scored the lone CSI goal in a 1-1 tie against the University of New Haven on Wednesday. In conference play against D'Youville on Saturday, she added a game-tying goal to give her four on the season.

Julia Ragone, Queens
Senior | Forward/Midfielder | Centereach, NY

Ragone paced the Knights’ offense with a team-high four points on two goals in a 1-1 week for QC. Ragone opened the week notching her fifth goal of the year in the 3-1 victory over American International on Wednesday. The senior would record her team-leading sixth goal of the year in a late-rally attempt in a 2-1 loss to Daemen on Saturday.

Becca Schultz, Daemen
Junior | Goalkeeper | Grand Island, NY

Schultz began the week with seven saves in a 2-1 road loss to regionally-ranked No. 7 Saint Michael's on Wednesday; the Daemen junior faced 24 shots against the Purple Knights, the second most she has faced in a single game this season. Schultz followed up with eight saves against Queens on Saturday to help Daemen secure a 2-1 road win for her sixth victory this season.
