Indianapolis - The NCAA recently announced the Division II Academic Success Rates for 2017, with the East Coast Conference finished tied for fifth highest among the 24 Division II conferences at 79 percent, up from 75 percent in 2016. The ECC tied fellow East Region conference, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, seven points higher than the DII ASR average of 72 percent.
The data, announced each year by the NCAA, is graduation-rate data based on a six-year cohort prescribed by the U.S. Department of Education.
"We are very proud of the work our student-athletes do on a daily basis as they represent their institutions in the classroom, on the playing field and in the community,“ noted ECC Commissioner, Dr. Robert Dranoff. “We are especially impressed by our jump of four points from 75 to 79 percent over the past two years. Supporting academic achievement is just another indication of the effort our member institutions put in to helping prepare team members for life after college.”
