ECC Announces Commissioner’s Honor Roll for 2011-12
Central Islip, N.Y. - East Coast Conference
Commissioner Robert Dranoff announced the list of 759
student-athletes who were named to the ECC Commissioner's Honor
Roll for the 2011-2012 academic year on Wednesday afternoon. The
ECC’s nine member institutions continued to increase the
number of student-athletes honored for the fourth consecutive year
(678 in 2010-11; 654 in 2009-10; 617 in 2008-09; 613 in
2007-08).
“Congratulations to all those student-athletes who
participated this past year in ECC athletics and to those who
represent their institutions and the conference so well in the
classroom, the community, as well as in their sport,” said
Dranoff. “We are very proud of you!”
LIU Post led all ECC institutions placing 134 student-athletes on
the Honor Roll, which accounts for over 38% of their
student-athlete population. Molloy was next with 108
student-athletes and also led the way with 49% of their
student-athlete population being honored. Bridgeport was the
runner-up by percentage, with 45%.
The Commissioner’s Honor Roll is awarded to student-athletes
who receive a 3.25 or better cumulative grade point average. This
annual recognition, in addition to Scholar-Athlete awards, helps to
uphold the East Coast Conference’s mission of promoting the
total person and the ability to excel not only in the athletic
arena but also in the classroom.
