The East Coast Conference, a member of Division II, has an
immediate opening for Director of Media Relations.
Responsibilities include the following (applied in no specific
order): supervise, compile and distribute the weekly conference
statistical reports and student-athlete honors program in all ECC
championship sports; maintain conference championship records;
answer membership, media, NCAA and general public requests for
conference statistical and sports information; write and produce
conference press releases, record books, championship programs,
feature stories, newsletters and all other published materials;
maintain ECC web site; coordinate nominations and voting for
all-conference, all-academic and other seasonal award recipients;
attend, staff and assist with ECC championship events as assigned;
serve as the primary liaison for conference webcasting; represent
the conference on regional and national committees; and assist
the commissioner in areas of marketing and prospecting of
corporate partners.
Requirements: A minimum of a bachelor's degree and 5 years of
full-time work experience in media relations at a Division II
conference (preferred) or an institution. Must have proven written
and oral communications skills and the ability to write, edit and
produce press releases. Knowledge and experience in desktop
publishing, website management and StatCrew required.
Flexible schedule with ability to work weekends and
evenings.
