Apr 7, 2008

Garden City, NY - In the Spring of 2008 Alex Molotsky, a member of the Adelphi University Men's Tennis team, was appointed as a member of the NCAA Division II Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). His term of service on the committee is effective immediately and will continue through the close of the 2011 NCAA Convention.

Alex serves as the East Coast Conference (ECC) SAAC representative, representing all of the member institutions in the ECC conference. There are 22 Division II Conferences not including Division II independent institutions and Alex Molotsky is one out of the 22 other student-athletes who represent their conferences. Alex will have the opportunity to attend several conference and seminars throughout his appointment to represent all Division II student-athletes.

"It's important to me to help foster and promote the best possible image of a Division II Student-Athlete," Alex had to say about his new position. "To be at the front of this campaign, in a position elected by my peers, is a honor for me and I look forward to serving my fellow Division II Student-Athletes as best as possible."

When not heading his SAAC duties, Molotsky also captains the Adelphi Men's Tennis team, leading the Brown and Gold to a 4-3 overall record thus far.

The mission of the NCAA Division II SAAC is to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity for all student-athletes, protecting student-athlete welfare, and fostering a positive student-athlete image. The Division II SAAC is guided by the following principles: ethics, integrity, fairness and respect for diversity, which shall include attention to gender, race, ethnicity and sport.
